I'm a Kway, You're a Kway... February 26 update
Well... I am still learning Weebly (the free website building software) and i don't have the time to make this presentation perfect...forgive the bullet points! Also, I have yet to download photos, so come back later if you would like to see photos! The kways are BEAUTIFUL.....
OK Serious stuff first.. at the last minute we came up with the idea of selling the thumbkways for $10 to benefit the Tiong Bahru Befrienders Association... here is a story about them: http://tiongbahruestate.blogspot.com/2009/08/tiong-bahrus-village-chief.html We raised $249 for them! I hope today we can do better! Thanks to everyone who donated!
-Most asked question: My favorite flavor?... Very tough question. If forced, I would say yam...but that is because it is also a unique and lively color
Second most asked question: How did you come up with the idea of the thumb? I have started an essay on this topic and will post it later in the week... The short answer is that I cannot explain it. I had a number of ideas, some involving geometry and words... they were nice ideas, but I just didn't feel they were "magic".
With hindsight, the thumbprint seems very natural and can be interpreted on many levels.. it is personal, yet anonymous. It is individualistic and yet it could be mass-produced..etc. etc. As mentioned I have started an indepth essay about this project and once that is finalized, it will go up here...
It was great to meet so many people...we gave out 400 kways. I am looking forward to today..maybe I can even see some other works!
